British Car Week- Final Event Twelve of our members headed south to Regina in support of the first SBCC event in Regina -British Cars and Irish Bars Car Show The road trip started
at 6:30AM June 4th. Rick Eastman's MGA did not want to leave the Saskatoon area so we left him and his wife waiting for a tow truck. The rest of
the group headed to Davidson for coffee and to meet two more members. The rest of the trip to Regina was trouble free the temperature had risen to
25C. The show venue was very good with lots of shade when needed. Many different vehicles made it to the event which provided lots to look at and to photograph.
Good food and beverages were enjoyed by many, then it was back to Saskatoon, one of the Saskatoon members had trouble before leaving but bthe issue was resolved next day.
The Regina Chapter of SBCC did a great job of their first SBCC show in that city. Thanks to all who suppoorted British Car Week events in both cities. Bob Forward, President
British Car Week - a Regina Chapter view- Day by Day the show gets closer and to our amazement, day by day the forecast gets better for show day. It's show morning, and the sun is bright, the forecast say 0% rain, and a high of 30-C. Could
things look better for British Cars at Irish Bars!
Lots of stuff to do, put up banners, signs, flagging, 5 or 6 of us start working on the canopy. After a few miuntes we cull the crew down tro 1 physio, 2 engineers and 1 agro to get the job done.
When all is said and done, we registered 49 vehicles, and a couple of cars participated without registering, oh well!
THe venue turned out to be excellent, with space for all and a nice pub and patio to enjoy the day, the cars and bike, the company, and
the food and refreshments.
We closed out the day by giving out dash plaques, the
Exhibitors Choice Award to the 1963 MGB rac car of Mike Adams, and the Peoples Choice Award to John Hobbs 1953 XK120 Jaguar.
A special thanks to O'Hanlon's Irish Pub for securing the evnue. Thanks to all the sponsors for their contributions; and to the entrants and Club helpers who pitched in when needed. -Bob Burton, SBCC Regina Chapter.
