Valve cover racing!
Thanks to the generosity of the Draggins car club, the SBCC will once again be volunteering at their valve cover racing track during the upcoming show (April 3rd and 4th). For those unfamiliar, valve cover racing is a fun, hands-on event where participants build and race small cars made from engine valve covers down a track. Last year, we saw fantastic enthusiasm from young visitors, and we’re eager to make this year’s event even bigger.
This is a great opportunity for kids and teens to learn basic engineering skills, enjoy some friendly competition, and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
To help families prepare, we’ve created a valve cover racing for beginners document and the racing rules are HERE. We also have a selection of used valve covers available (thanks to a donation by Amigos Auto wrecking).
If you have any questions, email Scott McDonald at the Saskatchewan British Car Club. We look forward to seeing lots of new faces and racers this year!
